Dehydrator is a building the allows the creation of dehydrated food and Duplicant packs.
Usage[]
It takes 6000 kcal of any food prepared with the Gas Range and 12 kg of Plastic to create 6 packs each of dehydrated food. Alternatively, 1 Duplicant and 25kg of Plastic can be used to create a single Dried Duplicant.
The food or Duplicant and plastic must first be loaded into the dehydrator and Natural Gas piped in.
The dehydration process is somewhat long at 250 seconds (almost half a cycle). The unloading requires duplicant operation for an additional 50 seconds. When unloading, six dehydrated food packs or the Duplicant pack and 6 kg of water are expelled at the bottom middle cell at 95 °C.
Dehydrated food packs never spoil. They need to be restored in the Rehydrator before they can be consumed. Each food pack provides 1000 kcal.
Food that was spiced prior to dehydration will retain the spice upon being rehydrated.
