Spaced Out

Starmap (Spaced Out)

The Spaced Out DLC starmap displays an hexagonal grid that spans a radius of 12 hexes from the central starting Planetoid. There are also Space POI (Point Of Interest) that could be mined for resources using a Drillcone module. Artifacts can be found in every space POI.

Hexes are revealed in two stages: half explored (has question marks where a POI or planetoid exist) and fully explored (you can travel there using any rocket). You can fully reveal hexes within 3 tiles of the colony when using a regular telescope, or 4 tiles when using an enclosed telescope. That means that some part of the starmap will be inaccessible from planetoids. These hexes will be later revealed by traveling to them with a rocket that has a cartographic module or use a telescope inside the spacefarer module.

Launching or Landing[ | ]

The hexes covered by the circle around the planetoid is the orbital of that planetoid. Launching to orbit or landing from orbit to the planetoid, consumes the same amount of fuel as any other travelled hex, but takes much less time.

Space Points of Interest[ | ]

Space points of interest (POI) can be discovered scattered around the starmap. Depending on the cluster, some types of POI are guaranteed to be found while others are chosen randomly within a selection of POIs.

Harvestable space POIs always contain an artifact that can be collected using Artifact Transport Modules attached to the rocket. Once collected, a new Office Mug artifact will be available to be collected in 90 cycles, repeatable indefinitely.

Rockets with a fueled Drillcone can collect materials from POIs that have remaining mass. Mass is refilled each day based on its refill rate, up to its maximum capacity. The maximum capacity and refill rate are hidden values randomized on each POI during world creation. The refill rate is always a percentage between 1% and 2% of its maximum capacity.
