Steel is a late game building material produced in Metal Refinery. It is mainly used in extreme environments such as Space Biome.
Usage[]
Steel is required to build Bunker Doors and Bunker Tiles which can withstand Meteor Showers in Space Biome.
Steel is required to build all Rocket (incl. Gantry) and Great Monument parts.
As a building material, Steel increases Overheat Temperature by 200 °C. It can be used to build both buildings that require Metal Ore (e.g. Oil Refinery) and buildings that use Refined Metal (e.g. Smart Battery). This property makes it ideal solution for buildings that can overheat in Oil Biome and Space Biome.

- 1 kg Steel + 1 unit Sun Nymph Egg = 1 unit Serum Vial
Production[]
Metal Refinery can produce Steel. The recipe will appear after either Iron, Refined Carbon or Lime is discovered. 70 kg Iron + 20 kg Refined Carbon + 10 kg Lime = 100 kg Steel. It requires Duplicants operation.
Among the three materials, both Iron and Refined Carbon could be produced in large quantities, and Lime may become the production bottleneck.
