Thermium is a manufactured material with excellent thermal conductivity.

Properties[]

Melting Thermium will turn it into Liquid Niobium (5% mass) and Tungsten (95% mass).

Usage[]

Thermium increases the overheat temperature of buildings it's used to construct by 900 °C. It can be used to construct buildings in extremely hot environments.

Metal Refinery can convert Thermium to Niobium. 100 kg Thermium = 100 kg Niobium.

Rock Crusher can produce Niobium and Sand from Thermium. 100 kg Thermium = 50 kg Niobium + 50 kg Sand.

Production[]

Molecular Forge can produce Thermium from Niobium and Tungsten. 5 kg Niobium + 95 kg Tungsten = 100 kg Thermium.

Tips[]

  • Thermium can be converted into Niobium at 1:1 rate in the Metal Refinery. This is effectively converting 95 kg of Tungsten into Niobium, thus, only one or two trips to a Niobium-containing asteroid may be required to "prime" the further conversion.
  • Thermium's high overheat cap is indispensable for lategame projects, such as running Super Coolant through Thermo Aquatuner or in the construction of a sour gas boiler.
