Visco-Gel is a special liquid which does not flow horizontally like normal liquids when stacked on top of another tile with Visco-Gel.
Usage[]
The main use for the liquid are Liquid Airlocks without the need to add a depression to the floor. The duplicants will still be affected by the sopping wet debuff. Note that the Visco-Gel airlock can be destroyed by other liquids - for example, if a duplicant makes a mess next to it, Polluted Water might push the Visco-Gel from the bottom tile.
Visco-Gel has a very low density - 100 kg fills an entire tile and forcing 350 kg into a single tile will cause pressure damage to adjacent blocks.
Solid Visco-Gel counts as plastic after freezing and can be used to construct Plastic Tiles and Plastic Ladders, so it can serve as an alternative method of delivery. With this method, it is preferable to build from the bottom, so when Visco-Gel melts it will not stick to the ceiling or to the wall but will fall on the ground.
Production[]
- It is made from Isoresin and Petroleum in the Molecular Forge.
